For my second week with APS, I was met with a lot of meetings, a lot of questions, and a lot of opportunities to grow. We have hit a slight snag in the main project I am working on, which has required a lot of clarification.

This week, I found myself settling into my internship much more. I unfortunately had to miss two of our internship events for personal reasons, but I was still very happy with my progress outside of that.

This week, I was delighted to realize that I had made a mistake in choosing a certain criterion during my data retrieval process and the IPEDS and NSF data actually matched. I don’t think I have ever been this happy to have made an error!

My internship had a great start this week! I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to get to know my fellow interns and the awesome people at APS. We met with SPS staff on Tuesday for orientation. It was great to learn more about the organization and get some tips for the summer.

My first week as an SPS intern began with a very fun 2-hour virtual orientation. I know, 2 hours on Zoom does not sound enjoyable at all - but believe me I could have stayed for another hour to talk more about bucket hats and listen to staff members’ stories.

Well, that’s all folks! This will be my last blog post as an SPS intern. This has been an amazing experience! I could not be more grateful for this opportunity to give back to the physics community and to participate in so many fantastic activities at APS Careers.
