About the cover

Following the success of rooftop observations, the Swarthmore College SPS chapter took a two-day trip to Cherry Springs State Park in PA, one of the few remaining dark spots in the northeastern US. They write, “Even though we booked hotel rooms for the trip, everyone ended up staying at the observing spot all night, as we were all mesmerized by the stars we could see with the naked eye.” In this photo, students work on polar aligning the telescope mount for tracking.
