Graduate Research Assistant

As an undergraduate student at the George Washington University, I was a member of our local chapter of Society of Physics Students. During my time as an SPS member, I traveled to Physcon2016 and served as the Social Chair and then as President. Involvement in SPS built an academic community that was interested in engaging with each other beyond the classroom. The professional development, mentorship, outreach experience, and friendships that came out of my time in SPS have been so rewarding.

After graduating with a B.S. in Biophysics, I dove into the world of oceanography where I am now pursuing a PhD in Physical Oceanography. I hope to join the Alumni Engagement Program to give back to the organization that has given me so much support. As a women in physics and a physicist in marine/environmental science, I hope that my story can inspire local chapters of SPS.
