Assistant Professor of Physics

As an undergraduate I served in my local SPS club as an officer from nearly the first moment I landed on campus. That community and support is what made physics fun, but also what kept many of us working together to finish our assignments late into the night. 3 years ago I started as an Assistant Professor and was very excited to be able to step into the role of SPS advisor. I love working to support the club as they develop their vision and work to support all members of the physics community on campus. Over the past year I have worked with them to develop a mentorship program aimed at helping to promote diversity and inclusiveness. My research focuses on biophysics and physics education research. At the moment I am measuring the stiffness of fruit fly guts and exploring the benefits of peer leadership in the classroom.
