My name is Oscar Peterson-Veatch. I am currently a third-year student at Augustana College, pursuing a double major in Physics and in Music. I have been a part of Augustana's SPS chapter: Augustana Physics and Engineering Society (APES) since my enrollment at the college. Additionally, since enrolling, I have maintained a personal membership with SPS. With APES I have had the amazing opportunity to participate in several elementary school outreach events as well as numerous STEM nights that we have hosted on Augustana's college campus. Additionally, I am on the Exec board of APES and work with five of my colleagues to facilitate what club activities have been possible to perform during the pandemic. For the past year I have worked with Dr. Nathan Frank, a professor at Augustana College, on his work in nuclear physics research; more specifically Neon-27 decay to various Fluorine isotopes. My passion in physics is the field of Acoustics. I am fascinated by the science of sound and various applications of this knowledge. I look forward to doing Acoustics research in future endeavors. I am also highly involved with the Music department at Augustana as their principal percussionist. I play several instruments, including percussion, piano, organ, and I am a member of five separate ensembles.
