Congratulations to the 2021-2022 National Council election winners! Thank you to everyone who participated in the election process. Results of the election can be found on the election results page. Information about the individuals will be posted to the National Council page later in the summer. Looking forward to the amazing work the newly elected council members will accomplish over the next year! 

The AIP-SPS Undergraduate Student Emergency Assistance was established by the American Institute of Physics (AIP), the AIP Foundation, and donors of SPS and Sigma Pi Sigma to assist student in completing their education who have been negatively impacted by the pandemic and economic factors thereof. To help support students to continue their education, SPS will provide financial assistance to students in need.

The Food for Hungry Physics Students program was established by the American Institute of Physics (AIP), the AIP Foundation, and donors of SPS and Sigma Pi Sigma to assist student in completing their education who have been negatively impacted by the pandemic and economic factors thereof. To help alleviate food insecurity concerns for students, the Society of Physics Students will provide $300 in financial support for chapters to start food cabinets for hungry physics students in their departments.

Chapter reports are a prime opportunity to showcase the activities of your chapter! Reflecting on the year’s events is important for the health, success and growth of your chapter. By looking back on your year, you will remember things to celebrate and keep for next year, and also see areas for improvement. In addition, your report and chapter information update is very important for the records of the SPS national office in the development of the annual SPS Information Handbook and new programs. Please take the time to tell us all about SPS (and Sigma Pi Sigma) at your school.
