Apply for Awards

A limited number of Travel Awards in the amount of $200 will be offered to help fund SPS members presenting their research at PhysCon.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be undergraduate students at the time of the meeting
  • Applicants must be members of the SPS National Organization
  • Applicants must submit an abstract and present a poster at PhysCon

Applications Procedure

Applications are due by October 11, 2019. The application will ask you to provide the title of your poster and a statement stating why you would like to attend PhysCon. The application also requires a certification from an advisor or academic mentor that the applicant is in good standing with the department; the online application will guide applicants through the process of requesting this certification.

If you receive a Travel Award, you are required to acknowledge the support that you received by including an SPS logo on your poster. You will also be required to submit a W-9 form (or equivalent). The award check will be mailed within 30 days after PhysCon after verification of your attendance. A student may not receive both a Travel Award and a Chapter Reporter Award.
