I am Andy Stokes, a physics (optics emphasis) and mathematics major at the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse.
My previous research has included the measurement of far-infrared laser frequencies from methanol isotopologues using a three-laser heterodyne technique, as well as the measurements of T1 spin-lifetimes of electrons in semiconductors using time-resolved photoluminescence.
I play the trombone in our Jazz Ensemble I, for which we have toured several places in the US as well as France and Germany. I daddle on the guitar and also enjoy listening to several genres of music.
I am very laid back, sociable, and enjoy good humor. I am a Milwaukee Brewers FANATIC and enjoy pretty much every sport except the NBA. In my spare time I enjoy lounging around, watching stand-up comedy, playing board games, and meeting new people.
I am looking forward to meeting you all and the new experiences this positions offers me.
