Internship: NIST (National Institute of Standards & Technology)
Introduction

My name is Kacey and I am currently a sophomore at Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, VA. I am a physics major, but I tell most people that I major in Martin (Martin is our science building), because I live in the physics lab. In my spare time (ha... what is that?) I enjoy reading everything in sight, riding horses, and being outdoors. I am also hopelessly addicted to the TV show Stargate and am known to quote it randomly. On campus I tutor physics and chemistry and stay involved with our SPS chapter's crazy activities.

Next year I will be studying abroad in England, so all those of you who have already done so will have to tell me about all the really cool stuff to see. I have done research before on Z-DNA binding proteins (I love Z-DNA kind of a lot), and thermal lens calorimetry (basically just shining lasers on stuff to measure stuff about it), so I am known to randomly pontificate about random things including Tolkien, Star Wars, Stargate, Z-DNA, lasers, and other random stuff.

I've only been to DC once before, so I'm looking forward to meeting all you guys and exploring, though hopefully I won't get too lost. I guess that's about it about me.

See you soon.

Kacey
