SPS Leadership Scholarship
I am a rising senior at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, majoring in Physics and minoring in Music Composition. I became involved with SPS my freshman year, becoming the Secretary my sophomore year and one of two Co-Presidents my junior fall. My favorite SPS memories have been our outreach program for the local elementary schoolers, which continued on despite online learning. In my junior spring semester, I studied abroad in Glasgow, Scotland, at both the University of Glasgow and the Glasgow School of Art. I loved my time there but was also excited to return to campus to continue my research from the previous summer, which is the investigation of the CLEAN deconvolution algorithm to improve imaging of extragalactic radio jets. I plan to continue this research into senior year. On Denison's campus, I spend my time doing homework, tutoring for the physics department, teaching classes for Ballet Club, and leading discussions about diversity, equity, and inclusion in Delta Gamma Fraternity. After Denison, I hope to attend graduate school for astrophysics to continue to nurture my fascination with black holes.
