This past week has been absolutely packed! The big thing around town last weekend was of course the Fourth of July and I was not disappointed by the celebrations! On top of all the extra things happening around here, it seemed like Vassar descended on the capital!
This week was not altogether that different from last. I went to events, continued to write memos and draft letters. Overall, there were no complaints. I’m learning my way through the underground tunnels and confusing hallways of the Capitol.
This was a fantastic week for outreach. Thursday afternoon, a few of the other interns and I headed to NIST, under Kendra's supervision, to talk to the children at the institute’s daycare about light and optics.
The weekend was fairly uneventful for me, which is a good thing. I definitely needed some time to take a breather, sleep, finish chores around the apartment, etc... I did go to the Air and Space Museum on Sunday, but it was super packed (which is normal, from what I'm told).
T.S. Elliot once said "We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." This quote resonates with me and why I have wanted to travel around the world.
