This is the last full week of our internships, excluding Brean and Shauna who have two weeks after the rest of us leave. It is bittersweet to be this close to the end of the program.

This week I discovered Georgetown. I heard so much about how cute the neighborhood is and had to go see for myself. Connor, Max, Katie (my roommate), Brean, Brean’s friend from school, and I went there over the weekend in pursuit of thrift shops and cupcakes.

4th of July in Washington, DC is amazing! A couple of age SPS interns and some non-SPS interns living with us found a roof-top bar to view the fireworks from. On the way back to the metro, we came across a neighborhood block party and firework display. Some of the fireworks seemed pretty crazy big to have going off in a residential area; safety concerns aside, they were beautiful!

This week was wonderful! On Saturday Brean had to go home to Philadelphia to find some paperwork and Connor, Max, and I tagged along for an impromptu day trip. I hadn’t been since the 8th grade so I was very excited!

This week was much more mellow than the last, it was nice to have that change in pace. I spent most of the weekend catching up with laundry and getting ready for the week ahead. Sunday night a couple interns and I watched Tron and Mulan, there was much singing along.
