My name is Julia, and I am a sophomore physics and political science major at Davidson. One of my favorite parts of our physics community is its culture of academic and interpersonal support. My experience with several upperclassmen tutors my freshman year inspired me to work as an embedded tutor for Davidson’s integrated lab-lecture introductory physics course last semester. I have enjoyed engaging with Davidson’s physics community through a variety of SPS events. This summer, I will serve as the SPS FYI Science Policy News Intern.
I am a member of Davidson’s Student Government Association Academics Committee, Teaching, Learning, and Research Trustee Committee, and Educational Policy Committee. I am also an equity advisor for the Student Initiative for Academic Diversity, a student group that interviews tenure-track faculty candidates about inclusive pedagogy. Outside of physics, I enjoy hiking and spending time with my pug, Ralphie.
