Ever since I first became a freshman at the University of Colorado Denver, I knew I wanted to be a physics major. I was supremely lucky to have an excellent physics teacher in my high school who inspired a passion for the subject in me. Once I began to attend college, I was fortunate to take a chance on some posters I had seen advertising SPS meetings, and decided to check them out. The students were so welcoming and knowledgeable, and I knew I was in the right place.
Now I am entering my senior year, and am president of my SPS chapter. I am proud to be a student at CU Denver, and proud to be a member of SPS. I want to share that passion with all of the students in my school and my zone. As a double major in physics and French, and with many outside interests that include participating in community events and the arts, I believe I can bring a unique perspective to those around me, and I believe in being open and supportive. My high school physics teacher was essential to directing me to this path, and I am planning on entering a PhD program after completing my bachelor's. Hopefully someday I will have the opportunity to inspire a young student.
