Danielle Weiland received her B.A. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from Carthage College in her hometown of Kenosha, Wisconsin. While pursuing her undergraduate degree she was the President of Carthage’s chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS), the department’s Outreach Coordinator, attended the 2012 PhysCon, and was inducted into Sigma Pi Sigma her senior year. She is also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the National Leadership Honor Society. Danielle spent three years of her undergraduate career conducting research with NASA’s System Engineering Educational Discovery (SEED) Program and had the opportunity to fly on the Zero-G plane twice to test their experiment in a reduced gravity environment. After graduating, Danielle continued to be an active member of SPS as a member of the 2016 PhysCon Planning Committee.
Danielle now proudly serves as the Programs Coordinator for the Society of Physics Students and Sigma Pi Sigma where she will focus on Internships, Scholarships, Individual and Chapter Awards, and the SPS e-Newsletter.
