Final Presentation: Abstract
SOCKs, Computers, and Camps
The Society of Physics Students (SPS) has been developing and providing SOCKs (SPS Outreach Catalyst Kits) for its student chapters for seven years now, with over 200 disseminated. This year’s topic is waves and the kit will feature a giant spring, Boomwhackers®, and polarized sunglasses. For the first year ever, the SOCK lesson plans will be available on The Nucleus, the student part of the physics digital library. As an SPS summer intern, I am working on developing both the SOCK and The Nucleus, a place for undergraduate physics and astronomy majors to find a community, to look for summer research jobs (REUs), and do various other things. If your chapter is interested in getting a SOCK, please contact me directly or the SPS National Office.
