Biongiorno! I am Katherine Zaunbrecher and I am a senior at the Univeristy of Louisiana Lafayette majoring in physics and minoring in French and music. My current research is in nuclear physics. I am working with gamma ray specroscopy, counting core samples (playing with dirt) for our wetlands research center here in Louisiana. I am also working on graduating within the next year. I noticed a lot of you studied/are studying/are going to study abroad in England. I studied abroad last summer in Paris and spent the weekends traveling. Europe was amazing, as always, and I cannot wait to go back (next summer for my honeymoon).
Right now I am spending my spring break juggling. (If anyone else juggles...let me know!) My friend and I are putting together a seminar for next week and so far it's been a lot of work. But I have a feeling it will be worth it. I also play the cello, djimbe, keys, and I love singing. Learning languages is always fun, too. I am working on strengthening my Italian and trying out German. Cooking is a stress relief for me. My fiancee and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I also like doing random things, going on different adventures, and seeing familiar things in new ways.
As this year's SPS Associate Zone Councilor for Zone 10 I spent a weekend in D.C. So I look forward to getting to go back and exploring a little more. I am very excited about this summer and look forward to meeting all of you.
Cheers, and peace,
Katherine |
